Richard Dennis Schultz of Milford, Pa., dies at age 87

Richard Dennis Schultz of Milford, Pa., passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at home. He was 87.

He was a graduate of New York University, an electrical engineer for Sperry Corporation and later Unisys Corporation, from which he retired.

He was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church, where he was a lay leader, member of the Appalachian Trail Club, sang for the Tri-State Chorale Society for 20 years and took 70 continuing education credits for Road Scholar. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1952 to 1953.

Son of the late Leo and Gertrude (Hunn) Schultz, he was born April 16, 1930, in New York, N.Y.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn (DiLauro) Schultz, whom he married on Oct. 20, 1979; son, Richard Schultz of Big Sky, Mont.; daughters, Barbara Tynan Wright of Levittown, N.Y., Joanne Schultz of Rock Tavern, N.Y., and Nancy McNichol of Bethpage, N.Y.; step-children, Kenneth Gerard of Short Hills, N.J., Gwenn Gilmore of Bonita Springs, Fla., Eric Grossmann of Massapequa Park, N.Y., and Denise Deissler of Commack, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Visitation was held at Stroyan Funeral Home, Milford, on Jan. 8. Funeral services were held at Milford United Methodist Church on Jan. 9 with the Rev. Luana Cook-Scott officiating. Burial followed in Milford Cemetery, Dingman Township, Pa.

Memorial donations may be made to the Milford United Methodist Church, 206 East Ann St., Milford, PA 18337.
