Irene Szewczuk of Matamoras, Pa., dies at age 66

Irene Szewczuk of Matamoras, Pa., formerly of Washington Township, N.J., a retired RN for Hackensack University Medical Center, entered into rest on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018. She was 66.

Daughter of the late Michael and Natalie Dubrowna Szewczuk, she was born on Nov. 9, 1951, in New York, N.Y.

She is survived by sister, Nadia Flisikowski. and husband. Robert; sister, Laura Hadorn; nieces, Karen Flisikowski and Katrina Hadorn; nephews, Joseph Flisikowski and Alexander Hadorn; along with additional family in Moldova and Ukraine.

As per her wishes, funeral services will be held privately. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

The family would like to thank the Pike County Area on Aging, especially Tracy; Matamoras/Westfall Twp EMT’s and Matamoras/Westfall Twp Police Dept. and the ER Staff of Bon Secours Community Hospital for their assistance.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Ukrainian Catholic Church, 141 Sarah Wells Trail, Campbell Hall, NY 10916.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the T.S. Purta Funeral Home, Florida, N.Y.
