John B. McCarthy Jr. of Matamoras, Pa., dies at age 54

John B. McCarthy Jr. of Matamoras, Pa., passed away on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, at Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, Fredon Township, N.J. He was 54.

Son of the late John B. and Madolyn (Marion) McCarthy, he was born on Aug. 24, 1963, in Port Jervis, N.Y.

He was a self-employed carpenter, musician, avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. John will be remembered for his electric personality.

Survivors include his companion, Tammy Wilson of Milford, Pa; children, Kylie McCarthy, John McCarthy III, and Maddy Lynn McCarthy, all at home, Casey Lee Scott and her husband, Jeremy, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Corey Nicole Wilson of Bethlehem, Pa.; sisters, Mary Anne Condit and husband, Larry, of Newton, N.J., and Colleen McCarthy of Matamoras; brother, Patrick McCarthy and wife, Cheryl, of Milford; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Toby.

A Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Saint Patrick’s Church, 111 East High St., Milford, with Reverend Alfred Vito officiating.

Arrangements were made by Stroyan Funeral Home, Milford.
