Justin Joseph Toner of Milford, Pa., dies at age 88

Justin Joseph Toner of Milford, Pa., passed away on Feb. 25, 2018, at Geisinger-CMC Hospital, Scranton, Pa. He was 88.

He was a graduate of St. John University College and Law School and retired as Vice President of European-American Bank, Manhattan, N.Y. Justin was a member of St John Neumann Church, Lords Valley, Pa., where he was a lecturer and member of the choir. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of the Mountain Council #9832, Milford, and a U.S. Army Korean war veteran. Justin enjoyed dancing to big band music and listening to classical music, and loved sports.

Son of the late Joseph and Mary (Evers) Toner, he was born in Brooklyn on March 9, 1929.

Survivors include his wife, Alberta “Tina” (Scaturro) Toner; daughters, Maureen Oliva and her husband, Carlos, of Westchester, Ohio, Therese Rayfield and her husband, James, of Ridgefield, Conn., and Mia Law and her husband, Charles, of Charlton, N.Y.; and 8 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, on Sunday, March 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on at St. John Neumann Church, Lords Valley, on Monday, March 5, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Thomas Major officiating. Burial will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Shohola, Pa.
