Ann M. Poynton of Milford, Pa., formerly of Warwick, N.Y., dies at age 77

Ann M. Poynton of Milford, Pa., formerly a longtime resident of Warwick, N.Y., passed away July 7, 2018, at Newburgh, NY. She was 77.

Daughter of Walter and Lila Jensen Bublitz, she was born on Oct. 23, 1940, in Winnebago, Minnesota.

Ann married Richard C. Poynton, who pre-deceased her.

She was a longtime faithful member of the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church of Matamoras, Pa. Ann retired after many years of dedicated service as a cashier for ShopRite food store in Chester, N.Y.

She is survived by her sons, Charles “Chuck” Poynton and his wife, Jodie, of New Hampton, N.Y., Todd Poynton and his wife, Valarie, of Johnson, N.Y., and Timothy (“Tim”) Poynton and his wife, Chrissy, of Clinton, Mass.; brother, Dallas Bublitz of Bothell, Wash.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Taylor, Thomas, Alyvia, Kayleigh, Conner Poynton and Andrew Henneman; and several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Gary and Donald Bublitz.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 East Main St., Port Jervis, N.Y. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, at the United Methodist Church of Matamoras, 209 Avenue H, Matamoras, Pa. The Rev. Diane Sommers will officiate.

Interment will follow at the Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, N.Y.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Matamoras, 209 Avenue H, Matamoras, PA 18336; or to the Sugar Loaf United Methodist church, 1387 Kings Highway, Sugar Loaf, N.Y.
