Barryville Butterfly Bike Ride on Sept. 29
BARRYVILLE, N.Y. — The Barryville Butterfly Bike Ride will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 29. It's a 4.6-mile ride and seed toss that supports Monarch butterfly and pollinator habitat by sowing seeds along Route 97, the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway.
Start at the Zane Grey Parking Lot in Lackawaxen, Pa. At 10 a.m. is registration, and at 10:30 a.m. the "butterfly bikes" take flight.
Riders will across the Roebling Bridge turn right onto Route 97, then turn right onto River Road, ending at the Barryville Farmers’ Market, 12 River Road , Barryville, N.Y. (behind the River Market).
Reber River Trips will return riders to Zane Grey parking lot.
Join the butterfly bikes as they pass and traverse along River Road to the Farmers’ Market, recommended for kids, rollerskates, scooters, walkers, and wheelchairs.
Bring to the ride:
Bike helmets. They are required by law.
Pre-filled water bottles. (No running water onsite).
Decorate your bike and dress as a butterfly, bee, bat, or another pollinator.
Light refreshments will be provided at the end of the ride.
Participants need to pre-register by Sept. 27.
