Arts grants are available
Grant-writing workshop on Oct. 13 in Kauneonga Lake
NARROWSBURG, N.Y. — Artists are invited to apply to grants through the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.
Arts for Sullivan 2019 community grants are for nonprofit arts, cultural and heritage groups that wish to create, produce, or present cultural year-round programming in Sullivan County during 2019. Projects can include theater, music, dance, the literary arts, history and architecture, folklore, installation, and visual arts, among others.
Individual artists who wish to produce community programming can work with a non-profit organization in Sullivan County acting as a fiscal sponsor. Grant applicant mays apply for up to three grants that may range from $300 to a maximum total of $3,500.
The Alliance is offering the Individual Artist Fellowship to support the creation of new work. In 2019 the Alliance will administer two discipline specific fellowships to eligible Sullivan County artists. Each artist will receive $2,500. Applications are being accepted for the following disciplines: visual arts, painting and literary arts, and fiction.
All applications and supporting documents must be submitted to the Alliance's online submission platform, Submittable.com. The deadline for 2019 applications is Thursday, Nov. 1, at 11:59 p.m.
Workshop on SaturdayA workshop is planned from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, at Bethel Council of the Arts, 3575 Route 55, Kauneonga Lake, N.Y., to assist with effective grant writing, creating a budget, creating a cohesive narrative, generating ideas, and networking with other artists and organizations. Registration is required, and new applicants must attend.
