Gun confiscation in sheep's clothing

To the Editor:

Pennsylvania House Bill 2060, while it had great intentions (keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people), was filled with major traps to take firearms away from honest people. You can see the legal analysis at from a leading Second Amendment attorney. Honest firearm owners and their respective groups were against this bill because it mirrored a recent law that took firearms away from an innocent person when his ex-wife filed a fraudulent complaint. He had a Kavanaugh moment and spent thousands to protect his good name and get his collection back. HB2060 is that law on steroids.

In making my rounds, it appears that most legislators either didn’t read this bill, were clueless on how this bill interacted with other laws, or ignored the pleas from honest gun owners. I called Rep. Rosemary Brown’s office, sent an email, and faxed her several times — not a peep. We now know where she stands on the Second Amendment. It is no wonder FOAC (Pennsylvania’s premier firearm protection group) dropped her endorsement.

It’s time to send the folks in Harrisburg a message that the Second Amendment and our Bill of Rights are not up for your negotiation and withhold your vote for Rosemary Brown.
