MILFORD — Pearl Harbor Day Ceremonies will be held on Friday, Dec. 7, at the Pike County Soldiers & Sailors Monument in Kiehl Park, located at Broad Street and High Street in Milford.
This national holiday honors those who died "on the date that lives in infamy."
Assembly time is 10:30 a.m. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. and includes:
Opening remarks: Gregory Protsko, Commander, VFW-8612
Opening prayer: Joseph Ryder, Chaplain AmLgn-139
Flag raising/salute to colors: Charles Valleau, Sgt-at-Arms, VFW-8612
Pledge of Allegiance: Nick Sansevero, Officer-of-the-Day, VFW-8612
Address, keynote speaker: Gregory Protsko, Commander VFW Post 8612
Presentation of veterans honor wreath: Designated Members, All participating Units.
Sounding of Taps/Salute to Colors: OD, VFW-8612 / Bugler, USMC Lge-909
Closing prayer: John Kupillas, Chaplain, VFW-8612
Following the ceremony, there will be a wreath laying at the Delaware River by the American Legion and the Vietnam Veterans Association.
